Giving Hunger the Blues is an annual
food and music event held each April on Hillview St. in Sarasota's
Southside Village. The event raises money for the All Faiths Food Bank
and other charities. Local restaurants offer a variety of foods and
there is live music throughout the day.

Prix is a powerboat event held around 4th of July every year to
raise money for the Child Development Center. Over the years the event
has raised millions to build facilities in Sarasota including a Special
Olympic training facility in Venice, FL.

every year the annual fair features 4H and agricultural exhibits, live
entertainment, midway rides and games, lots of food, and more.

Taste of the Suncoast, held each March is a fundraiser for the All
Faiths Food Bank. Dozens of Sarasota's top restaurants and wine
merchants donate their food and products to raise money to fight hunger
in Sarasota.

Florida International Air Show is held
each April at the Charlotte County Airport in Punta Gorda. Past
performances have included the Navy Blue Angels team as well as a
variety of vintage and modern aircraft such as a F-117 Stealth Fighter.

Venice Sharks Tooth Festival is held
each April on Venice Beach near the pier. The event celebrates Venice's
distinction as the shark's tooth capitol of the world and features
entertainment, food as well as displays of shark's teeth and other
prehistoric fossils.

The Venice Holiday Parade held at the
end of November is the kickoff to the holiday season. The parade runs
through downtown Venice and futures floats and marching bands.

The Sarasota Christmas Boat Parade
held each December features a competition of decorated power and
sailboats in several classes. Some of the efforts are quite impressive
with many involving thousands of lights.

Sarasota Comedy Festival is held in
May to benefit the Child Protection Center. The event features a cartoon
parade, comedy luncheon and nightly performances throughout the

make up the Taste of Sarasota. The Chefs Competition in September and
